Where to Buy Fish Online
Well, it depends on where you live.
I live in Kent, England, but buy my fish from Blades Seafood, based in Hull, England.
This is possible because the fish is chilled and kept at a constant temperature by a combination of insulated packaging, cool packs and refrigerated transport.
It's much more convenient to buy your fish, lobster or crab online.
You know you're getting fresh because it's bought to order.
Mail order fish isn't kept in stock, it's purchased, processed and packed all within the same day.
Frozen fish and seafood (such as prawns, shrimp, mussels and similar) are kept in stock, but fresh or wet fish is bought to match the orders that day - dead fish don't make good pets, nor do they make a profit sat in a chiller.
If you live in the US, then there are many suppliers where you can buy fish online.
Some will only deliver within their state - which is probably an area the size of England anyway - some will deliver outside their own states.
If you intend to freeze your fish for later use, you will need to check when you make your order that the fish hasn't been previously frozen - ie that it is fresh or wet fish.
Just ask when you're placing your order.
